HOCUS AND LOTUS

’Hocus & Lotus’ was created on the basis of the teaching/learning method known as the “narrative format” which was developed by Professor Traute Taeschner at Università 'La Sapienza' in Rome, experimentally verified in over 120 Italian pre-schools and primary schools and used by more than 4.000 teachers in Europe.

The foreign language is learned through the creation of a context in which we speak, live and act exclusively in the new language: it is the fantastic world of Hocus & Lotus. The two little dinocrocs, with their dinosaur tail and their crocodile tooth, experience fantastic and exciting adventures together with the children.

With Hocus & Lotus the children engage in a variety of activities characterized by love and emotional involvement and structured in such a way that they respect the rhythm, time and skills of each and every one of them, by going through the different stages of native language acquisition process.

KINDERMUSIK

„ABC Music & Me” is an award-winning internationally recognised music program for 2 to 7 year olds. It was designed for early childhood learning centers.

What you’ll experience in class:

  • Songs and rhymes to develop phonetic awareness and early reading skills
  • Tapping, clacking, and ringing rhythm instruments in time with music to improve hand-eye coordination
  • Focused listening with music to improve skills in following directions
  • Instrument play to strengthen fine motor skills
  • Developmentally-appropriate songs to develop vocal chords and expressive speech
  • Learning that emphasizes storytelling, imaginative play, and taking turns

With 30 years experience in developing early learning curricula and products, Kindermusik is the world’s most trusted name in music and movement classes for children newborn to seven. Kindermusik curricula are based upon the principles of early development applied to developmentally appropriate practice as defined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Plus, the Kindermusik philosophy is rooted in the work of early childhood development experts like Piaget, Montessori, and Greenspan.
Our full curricula offer your child seven years of musical learning that involves every aspect of your child’s growth and development: language, motor skills, social skills, cognitive development, emotional growth, and musicality. Throughout the Kindermusik experience, a trusted and trained Educator will guide you and your child through every musical and developmental milestone and help you understand what is happening all along the way. Each semester, a new set of At Home Materials brings the experience out of the classroom and into your every day routines and rituals.

CREATIVE DANCE

Our aim is to develop children’s coordination and crerativity. During the classes, the basic motives of the children’s lives and fantasies are of great importance.

This brain-compatible approach allows children to explore and understand their own feelings and experiences, and those of others. Knowing who they are, how they feel, and the ability to feel empathy are important emotional skills Creative Dance helps to nurture in even our youngest students. Physically, young children develop a strong kinesthetic awareness of themselves creating a strong foundation for school readiness and life-long learning.

BABY SIGN LANGUAGE

Baby sign language is a method in which you and your infant (or toddler) use specific handshapes and motions to convey words and meaning (quickly and easily) with each other. These exact handshapes and motions are executed typically using Hungarian Sign Language.
This special type of communication significantly reduces frustration for your darling little one.
Most babies can hear but do not yet have the physical ability to speak more than a few words, if any. Since speech is formed through the use of trained vocal chords, most babies can only form basic sounds. Communication is difficult (at first) and is usually made up of unintelligible noises and hand gestures. When frustrated, communication dissolves into crying, whining and sometimes tantrums. When Baby is frustrated, so are Mommy and Daddy.
Baby Sign Language is composed of baby hand and finger signs that indicate words, concepts, and ideas babies need and want to communicate.

The Suzuki Method is based on the principle that all children possess ability and that this ability can be developed and enhanced through a nurturing environment. All children learn to speak their own language with relative ease and if the same natural learning process is applied in teaching other skills, these can be acquired as successfully. Suzuki referred to the process as the Mother Tongue Method and to the whole system of pedagogy as Talent Education.
The important elements of the Suzuki approach to instrumental teaching include the following:

  • an early start (aged 3-4 is normal in most countries)
  • the importance of listening to music
  • learning to play before learning to read
  • the involvement of the parent
  • a nurturing and positive learning environment
  • a high standard of teaching by trained teachers
  • the importance of producing a good sound in a balanced and natural way
  • core repertoire, used by Suzuki students across the world
  • social interaction with other children: Suzuki students from all over the world can communicate through the language of music

The Suzuki method has enabled many children to play music to a high standard. Substantial numbers of Suzuki trained students have indeed become highly acclaimed professional musicians. However, the training of professionals is not the main aim: the emphasis throughout is on the development of the whole child, on education through music.

DALCROZE METHOD

The Dalcroze method, also known as Dalcroze Eurhythmics, is another approach music educators use to foster music appreciation, ear-training and improvisation while improving musical abilities. In this method, the body is the main instrument. Students listen to the rhythm of a music piece and express what they hear through movement. Simply put, this approach connects music, movement, mind, and body.
This method has 3 facets:

  • Eurhythmics (Greek for "good rhythm") - Musical expression through movement; developing musical skills through kinetic exercises. Students learn rhythm and structure by listening to music and expressing what they hear through spontaneous bodily movement. For example, note values and rhythms are represented by stepping and clapping.
  • Solfege (fixed-do) - Helps develop ear-training and sight-singing skills.
  • Improvisation - Using instruments, movement and voice.

The Dalcroze Method helps foster imagination, creative expression, coordination, flexibility, concentration, inner hearing, music appreciation and understanding of musical concepts.

YOGA FOR KIDS

Yoga is an ancient science and philosophy that has been practiced for thousands of years. The popularity of Childrens’ Yoga is increasing.
Yoga, adapted for pre-school children, develops body awareness, language, good listening skills, cooperation and powers of observation.  It teaches pre-school children about nature, their environment and inspires their imaginations. It prepares them for breathing techniques used in yoga.  They learn by playing, singing, moving and imitating.   This is an ideal time for children to begin a yoga practice.

AIKIDO FOR KIDS

Adults may practice Aikido for inner peace, relaxation, or self-defense. But these are concepts that most children don't even think about. So why is Aikido a good idea for kids? What can it contribute to their lives?

  1. Aikido is a non-aggressive martial art. What does this mean? Basically, that you can't really start a fight with Aikido - you can only finish one. Aikido doesn't encourage kids to have Power Rangers Syndrome, in which they go around punching and kicking their friends, siblings, dogs, and cats. Aikido technique starts when someone else "breaks the rules", i.e. attacks.
  2. Aikido teaches kids to be calm. Of course, kids shouldn't be calm all the time. But Aikido gives them the choice. If they need to sit still at school, or concentrate on homework, or focus during sports, Aikido shows them exactly how to do that. The techniques and ki testing we do teach them correct calmness. This is entirely different from keeping their emotions bottled up. Aikido calmness feels good.
  3. Aikido teaches kids practical self-defense..
  4. Aikido gives kids a positive world view. It teaches that in order to create something worthwhile, you must work in harmony with your environment. It teaches that if you make trouble, you will lose. But if your mind is correct, calm, and positive, you can make something good out of whatever the universe hands you.
  5. Aikido teaches kids a lighter approach to life. A plodding, serious approach to life doesn't feel good. And it usually doesn't yield the best possible results. Our Aikido works best when you relax and feel light. By learning this in practice, our children can't help but apply this to their lives.
  6. Aikido helps kids at school. By training in Aikido, kids develop calm, clear minds. As a result, they absorb knowledge easier, and think with greater clarity. Aikido is about developing the full human potential, and school is one of the most important places for this potential to be realized.
  7. Aikido helps kids in sports.
  8. Anyone can be good at Aikido. Aikido does not require athletic talent. In fact, athletic prowess can sometimes get in the way. The key to making progress in Aikido is simply persevering and having a positive attitude. What better lesson can we teach our kids?
  9. Aikido works for little people. Since Aikido does not rely on size, or speed, or weight, or reach, it is actually applicable by children on adults. In fact, it can be quite surprising how much power our children can muster when throwing adults!
  10. Aikido makes your kids tired. So hopefully, they'll go to bed a little earlier on Saturday nights.

TSMT

Based on Hungarian and international researches the portion of the school age
children in the normal intelligence sphere, but suffering from learning,
attention and integration disorders is about 15-25%, and this portion is
growing year by year.
In a very significant portion (85-90%) of these children, partial or extensive immaturity of the nervous system is identifiable. In lack of
early recognition and goal oriented developmental therapies, this will become
a permanent functional disorder, which makes successful school integration,
learning, higher education, and professional education significantly more
difficult.
TSMT Method is designed for identifying and curing these disorders in time.

PILATES

Pilates improves your mental and physical well-being, increases flexibility, and strengthens muscles. Pilates uses controlled movements in the form of mat exercises to tone and strengthen the body. For decades, it's been the exercise of choice for dancers and gymnasts (and now Hollywood actors), but it was originally used to rehabilitate bedridden or immobile patients during World War I.
Pilates is a body conditioning routine that seeks to build flexibility, strength, endurance, and coordination without adding muscle bulk. In addition, pilates increases circulation and helps to sculpt the body and strengthen the body's "core" or "powerhouse" (torso). People who do pilates regularly feel they have better posture, are less prone to injury, and experience better overall health.

PARENT EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Although many of the ideas and techniques taught in behavioral parent training are common sense parenting techniques, most parents need careful teaching and support to learn parenting skills and use them consistently. It is very difficult for parents to buy a book, learn behavior modification, and implement an effective program on their own. Help from a professional is often necessary.

Our training will show you how you can coach yourself and your children by applying a set of skills and techniques in almost any parenting situation, at any time.
We believe that you have the best answers for you and your family and we are committed to helping parents develop a style of parenting that revolves around those answers.

TPRS
(TEACHING PROFICIENCY THROUGH READING AND STORYTELLING)

TPR Storytelling is a method for teaching foreign languages that was invented by Blaine Ray, a Spanish teacher in Bakersfield, California, in 1990. Concerned that his students were disinterested in the unexciting process of learning a language from a textbook, he began to use James Asher's Total Physical Response to teach Spanish. Asher says that students acquire their second languages as they acquired their first languages. Our students learn as babies learn. Therefore, we should not expect them to produce the language before they have had an ample amount of time to listen to it. Blaine experienced great success, and the students began to be excited about his class. Although TPR has been the most effective method for acquiring a second language since it was invented in the 1960s, Blaine found that after hitting the "TPR wall," he was unsure of what to do to move from the imperative to the narrative and descriptive modes of speech. He found that changing from commands to the third person singular allowed him to tell stories, a long-term memory technique. He found that asking the students to act out the parts of the characters in the stories preserved the highly effective physical element that had been so powerful in Classical TPR. As the technique was developed over the years, it became an all-encompassing method and methodology. The method combines Dr. James Asher's Total Physical Response (TPR) with Dr. Stephen Krashen's language acquisition strategies, allowing us to teach grammar, reading and writing along with vocabulary.

KEGEL CLASSES

Pelvic floor exercise classes have become increasingly popular in Hungary.
These are a series of exercises to isolate and train the muscles of the pelvic floor,
in order to increase their resilience and strength. This prevents urinary
incontinence, helps prevent tears during birth, helps regenerate the area
after birth and last but not least can improve your sexual experience.
